The Quest for M-Bags

Faced with the task of getting our stuff home, Lisa and I went to Rome's central post office today. When a friend moved from Rome back to the States last December, he alerted me to the existence of the m-bag, a green canvas bag required for sending books at an economy rate much, much cheaper than the regular mail rate.

The first postal employee we asked had never heard of an m-bag. The third postal employee we spoke to took us around to his desk and spent the better part of an hour trying to locate some information concerning the m-bag. First, we established that m-bags are not available at Rome's central post office. It turns out one may obtain an m-bag at a post office near Tiburtina train station, which, incidentally, is beyond the scope of my map. Tony, the man helping us, knew the name of this post office but not the address, so he spent some time at his computer trying to access this information:
Lisa and I took turns spacing out while Tony made some calls:
Tony showed us on the map the general location of the Tiburtina post office where the m-bags may be obtained:
In addition to not selling m-bags, Rome's central post office sells the following titles at the PosteShop: Secure and Serene Pregnancy, 365 Intelligent Ideas for Fun with your Child, Yoga for All, The Pilates Method, The Pleasure of Massage, Stretching & Stretching, The Book for Interpreting Dreams and Playing with Numbers, and Creative Woman 2: New Ideas and New Techniques. However, I might have felt more relaxed if they just sold m-bags.
P.S. A day later, we call the phone number Tony had worked so hard to procure for us for the Tiburtina post office only to discover that the number he had given us was in fact just another number for the central post office where he worked.

Tom - From what I recall, you can get the m-bags from the Tiburtina post office (there's a train that goes there).

You must weigh them and buy postage at a separate post office.

Then you return to the Tiburtina post office to send the stamped boxes. Don't remember the cost.
